Why AndAssociates
Built for how African boards actually appoint.
Seats originated, not scraped
Director, advisory and fractional seats come directly from companies — scoped, funded and ready — not lifted from a job board.
Anonymized until you consent
Your name, photo and LinkedIn stay private until you approve an interview. You decide who sees you.
Matched on outcomes, not keywords
An adaptive interview builds a capability profile from how you actually work, then scores you against the seat's own rubric.
Prompt, transparent pay
One invoice per cycle, one predictable pay date, a full payslip and tax receipt — and a live vesting ledger for equity.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I join as a non-executive director or board advisor?
- Yes — and it's where most people start. Register, complete the capability assessment and your fiduciary disclosures, and once you're approved you can see anonymized board and advisory opportunities and indicate interest in the seats that fit.
- What's the difference between a director seat and an advisory seat?
- A director seat is formal: a vote, fiduciary duty, statutory disclosures and a letter of appointment. An advisory seat is challenge and access without fiduciary liability, usually on an agreement combining cash, equity or both. Different scope, different risk, different pay.
- Who can join as an executive?
- Senior operators — typically 12+ years of experience and prior C-suite or equivalent leadership scope — who want to work fractionally across African companies. We review every application before you go live.
- Can I hold a board seat and a fractional role at the same time?
- Yes, with different companies. One profile covers all three tracks — director, adviser and fractional executive — and you choose which you're open to. We flag conflicts before a match is shared.
- What does it cost to join?
- Nothing to join. The platform charges a transparent fee only on the engagements you run through it. No listing fees, no subscriptions.
- How does matching work?
- Board and advisory seats score you against that seat's five-dimension capability spec; fractional roles use a four-dimension rubric. Either way you see and consent to each match before your identity is shared.
- How does pay work?
- Companies pay one invoice per cycle on-platform. Net pay lands in your account promptly; statutory taxes are handled centrally. Equity is tracked on a live vesting ledger you can see at any time.
- How is my profile shown to companies?
- Anonymized by default. Your identity, photo and LinkedIn are only revealed after you approve an interview with a specific company.
- Do I need to be based in Africa?
- Most of our base is on the continent, but diaspora directors, advisers and operators with strong African track records are welcome. Time-zone overlap matters for most seats.
