About
The board first. Then the operators it holds to account.
AndAssociates.io is the platform for appointing and governing board directors and advisors across Africa — and for hiring, managing and paying the fractional executives who deliver against that board's plan.
Who we are
The senior operating and board talent Africa needs is already on the continent. What's been missing is the plumbing — a way to find them, vet them, contract with them and pay them cleanly, at the pace growth-stage companies actually move.
We built AndAssociates.io so that companies can access those operators and advisors without long recruiter cycles, and so that the continent's best operators can build durable, high-quality fractional careers.
- Four products, one platform. A director and advisory marketplace, governance software to run the seat, a fractional executive marketplace, and the onboarding and performance layer that makes a fractional hire land — all on the same vetting, contracting and pay rails.
- Vetted, not aggregated. Every executive and advisor is reviewed before going live. Companies get a shortlist, not a CV dump.
- Built for African engagements. Multi-currency invoicing, statutory tax handling in the anchor markets, contract clauses and FAST agreements that reflect how fractional and advisory work actually run.
- Shared accountability. Interview trackers, engagement KPIs, feedback cadences — both sides log the same conversation.
What we do
Four products on the same platform. Most companies start at the board and work down.
Start here: the seat with the mandate
Vetted non-executive directors with a vote and fiduciary duty, and board advisors on plain-language FAST agreements combining a small cash retainer with vested equity. Each seat is scoped against a five-dimension Capability Spec, so both sides know exactly what "success" looks like — then run properly in Govern.
Then the operating layer, one to three days a week
Vetted CFOs, CTOs, CMOs, COOs, CHROs, CROs and more — hired against the plan the board set, scoped to a specific outcome like a raise, a market entry or a turnaround, with clear KPIs and a shared cadence.

Why these four sit on one platform
A board or advisory seat is usually the first thing a growing African company buys from us. It is the lowest-risk senior appointment a founder can make: a few hours a month, a small retainer, mostly equity, and no operational commitment. That makes it the natural first engagement — the wedge.
Once that seat exists, Govern keeps it active. Meetings get scheduled, packs get circulated, resolutions get recorded, vesting keeps ticking, disclosures stay current. The company logs in every month whether or not it is hiring, and the board relationship stays evidenced rather than drifting into a WhatsApp group.
That live relationship is the primary channel into the company's next hire. When the board concludes the company needs a CFO two days a week, or a CTO to get through a platform rebuild, the conversation happens where the board already sits — with people who know the company's numbers, its risks and its plan. The fractional marketplace is one click away, and onboarding and performance picks up the moment that executive signs.
So the four products are not four tools we happened to build. They are one sequence: enter through the board, stay through governance, expand into fractional execution, and prove the value through managed performance. Splitting them across four vendors is exactly what breaks the sequence — the relationship goes cold between the appointment and the hire, and nobody owns whether the engagement worked.
How it works
From posting a role to paying invoices — the whole workflow, on one platform.
- 01
Define the seat
Start with the board: each director or advisory seat gets its own five-dimension capability spec, so five open seats are five distinct briefs, not one generic posting. Fractional roles are scoped the same way, around an outcome and days-per-week.
- 02
Hand-matched shortlist
You get up to three vetted candidates per seat — not fifty CVs. Median time to shortlist is 48 hours. Candidates consent before their identity is shared.
- 03
Interview on a shared tracker
Board and advisory seats run the five-dimension CAMI capability spec. Fractional roles run a four-dimension rubric. Both feed the same weighted scoring engine.
- 04
Appoint or contract
Directors sign a letter of appointment; advisors sign a plain-language FAST agreement covering vesting, IP and mutual NDA; fractional executives sign a fractional contract. All e-signed on-platform.
- 05
Govern the board, manage the operators
Seats continue into Govern — meetings, packs, minutes, resolutions, vesting and disclosures. Fractional hires continue into onboarding and performance — 30/60/90-day plans, KPIs and feedback.
- 06
Invoicing, pay and tax
One invoice per cycle. Automatic split into net pay, statutory taxes and platform fees — plus a placement fee triggered when a FAST agreement is signed.

Frequently asked questions
- Why does AndAssociates.io start with the board?
- Because the board seat is the lowest-risk senior appointment a founder can make, and it's the seat that decides what the company hires next. Get the oversight right and the operating hires follow with a mandate behind them.
- How is AndAssociates.io different from a recruiter?
- We aren't a CV database or a headhunter. Every director, advisor and executive is vetted, matched to a specific seat spec, and paid through the same platform that hosts appointments, board meetings, interviews and delivery — so nothing lives in email.
- How fast can I get someone started?
- Median time to first shortlist is 48 hours per seat. Most companies interview within a week and appoint or start an engagement within two.
- How much does it cost?
- Board and advisory seats carry a one-off placement fee charged when the FAST agreement is signed. Fractional engagements carry a per-cycle platform fee on each side. See the pricing & fees page.
